@thinkingwest This map includes French châteaux’s, German Schlösser’s, fortified Italian villas etc - so ‘castles’ is a little misleading

When I hear people say water scarcity prevents new housing infrastructure in the western US, I am skeptical. When I hear it about Rain Island, I don’t even know what’s happening

@mattyglesias The UK is, if memory serves, not that wet (lotsa rain, not a lot of water per rain as much of it is drizzle - London has less precipitation than SF or Jerusalem) and it has to be converted to tap water where infrastructure is a bottleneck.

@bjames280961 @TrisOsborneMP @KathrynPorter26 Any reasonable person in a position of power & who has influence over millions of people’s lives would take Kathryn up on this offer. The worst possible outcome for Tris is he loses an hour of time, learns nothing and comes away more sure of his own arguments (highly unlikely).

@TrisOsborneMP Have you taken up @KathrynPorter26 on her offer to all MPs to brief them on the UK energy-supply system yet? Wild guess here, but, no, you haven't, and you wouldn't dream of getting too close to all those dangerous facts.

@Chopalong @WarMonitor3 It would benefit the UK in regards to tax revenue, employment & security. To not be able to recognise this is absolutely crazy.

@WarMonitor3 Nope. As with most things, he is uninformed. This is a discussion that went round X a couple of weeks ago and was also debated in the commons. UK oilfields were sold by Maggie. Increasing production does not, therefore, benefit the UK consumer.

@neso_energy To think this is something to celebrate is absolutely deranged. This kind of thinking epitomises all that is wrong with the UK.

@disclosetv "Freedom of navigation" coalition with France lmaooo. These are the same countries that couldn't keep their own cities safe and need US intel to do anything meaningful militarily. Good luck with that coalition, UK. Let us know how it goes.

@qu3stionevrthg @eugyppius1 Anyone with the tiniest shred of intelligence can see that he & the US will be entirely at fault. But Donald knows his minions are dumb & will support / regurgitate anything he says no matter how illogical or self defeating

@qu3stionevrthg @eugyppius1 Can you not see that Donald is purposefully turning his legion of fuk wits against Europe in order to narrative shape & save his own skin? He needs someone for you lot to blame when he can’t keep the Strait of Hormuz open and the world is plunged into an economic recession

As you read unending tide of MAGA influencers salivating at idea of killing NATO, recognise that such a move would benefit Russia & China above all, & that US would also be a major loser. Many conspiracy theories are possible as to where this rhetoric really comes from.

MAGA has wanted to kill NATO since 2016. And you finally gave us a reason to. Given you have begged us to protect you from scary Russia (because you can’t do it yourselves), your poor countries should be shining our shoes when we ask for help dealing with Islamic terrorism. You didn’t, and the terrorists are still being blown up. Leaving NATO will have zero impact on us, we will still have our bases bc we’ll still be allies, the Europeans can fight us for them (lol). The Europeans have proven themselves useless, carrying dead weight is not noble, or beneficial

@Fatherhood22151 @myscotlandtoday @iAnonPatriot Amazing how ‘merica firsters can’t see how their entire economy is propped up by this. The day of reckoning is coming. And it will be entirely self inflicted.

@myscotlandtoday @iAnonPatriot Yup, so parasitic we have single handedly kept up the security and economy of 150 nations for nearly a century. Tell me, are you dense? Mentally disabled? A blind propagandist? Scratch that. I don't give a fuck.

@OyVeyIzhMir @eugyppius1 @KingsfordKris Amazing how when Trump clearly gets something wrong and walks it back, his loyal legion of fuk wits determine it’s a negotiation strategy. Leaders get things wrong. Perfectly normal. Pretending the man is infallible. That’s it’s all part of some greater plan. Incredibly dumb.

@eugyppius1 @KingsfordKris Sure. But self congrats isn't justified. If you know that it's a negotiating tactic then it's obvious he'd back off at some point. It's like the rooster taking credit for the Sun rising in the AM.

Aside from Trump's unpopular war, Trump's provocations & Trump's empty threats, Euro leaders are concluding that the president will soon be weakened, his revolution abortive, and that they must merely wait out his term. So they grow more defiant.

@d0m96 @James_M_Yates @sirjusticeee @spencerjohn2k @ITVNewsPolitics The guardian is also infamously ideologically driven. When it comes to energy, we cannot afford to be making decisions on ideological ground. If you were to read them, I would link a whole load of counter arguments published by people who don’t have an ideological axe to grind
