@Square Its clear what caused this problem. Square is focusing on cost-reduction versus excellence. You have off-shored what was outstanding support. It is now poor. I'd be willing to bet this was Square moving to a lower cost data center and messing it up.

Once resolved, we plan to publish a full review of this issue and determine what steps we can take to prevent it from happening again. When it’s available, we will share that with you.

Since around noon PT on Thursday, sellers have been unable to access accounts or process payments due to a systems outage within Square. We know you trust us with your business, and these situations add challenges to running your operations. For that, we are truly sorry.

@Square Sorry means nothing without compensation. Its just a platitude. We processed transactions offline during the period. We expect Square to pay for any transaction you determine are invalid.

@Square This statement from Square status "We're working to pinpoint the issue's root cause, and will continue to share updates as we get them. Thank you for your understanding!" is insulting. What should we "understand" about square being out of service for more than 9 hours?
