I was randomly thinking about all the movies I had rated 5/5 on Letterboxd, there are 34 of them. Basically my favorite movies. I decided I wanted to watch all of them again. So I thought I'd run a thread after watching one and point out my favorite moment in each movie.

@hprolic Definitely recommend it if you liked the first. Don't really have haikus again but otherwise it's the most sequely sequel to ever sequel.

Games cleared in 2026 thread. Ghost of Yōtei: I finished this at 1:00-ish a.m. last night, so it counts! I'm a little surprised about how little this got discussed. An absolutely beautiful game with a cast of interesting characters. Gameplay is pretty simplistic but engaging.

Oh and it's nice for a game like this to use footage from the anime movies instead of just stills. I don't love the pseudo 3D art style they used for that and the 2017 series but what can ya do.

@Dynamite_Derek It's still the best sports game on the market, if you don't count the extremely niche management games. But if it's the same thing every year, what's the point. I can just keep my RTTS character going from a previous game.

@hprolic Definitely agreed. The Show used to be a day one, no doubt purchase for me. But then, suddenly, they became more like the other sports games. It's very frustrating.

@MattMattMatt_23 I think OBAA is Anderson's best film since 2007 personally. It's probably going to be my pick for best movie of the year, unless a couple I still have to see blow me away.

@hprolic I see where he’s coming from. Lowkey I think One Battle After Another wasn’t that great but that’s because I can’t help but compare it to past PTA movies. Eddington felt in a similar vein and I liked it much more.

@MattMattMatt_23 This is really pretentious but a youtuber I know called it a "normie masterpiece", and I kind of hate that I get where he's coming from on it. There are much better films this year like One Battle After Another or It was Just an Accident, but Sinners hits with general crowds more

@hprolic Yeah I don’t want to be too harsh on it because I really did enjoy this movie. I just don’t think it was perfect like a lot of people act like it is. I think that ending and final act just needed some fine tuning.

He took the female hero who used to make every little girl believe she could be strong, helpful, and good… …and turned her into a smirking, eye-rolling drunk whose entire philosophy is “Yeah Whatever.” This isn’t a reimagining. 
This is deliberate desecration. And for Warners to release this trash the week before we mark 250 years of the greatest nation on earth… …a nation that always reaches for something higher… …that’s the REAL INSULT. And THAT’S why they’re going out of business. Because clearly they HATE what they’re doing, and they HATE the people they’re doing it for.

@Dynamite_Derek Both have their place, but I think we're at a point with realism where you're not really going to get much better, or at least not in any noticeable degree, so it's not the most important thing to focus on.

Reading reviews where they say Ninja Gaiden 4's graphics wouldn't impress anyone even 10 years ago. I am officially at the age where I just think everything looks amazing. Seeing it run at like 100 FPS on my computer just blows my mind
