I’m going to do my own rendition of orpheus from hadestown so that whenever people want to complain about someone’s orpheus they can all agree that I was the worst and stop shitting on professional actors who gave their all to that show

imagine being a fan of jack wolfe and acting nasty and mean to others in his name. mind you he's a person who alot of fans admire for his kindness. you are aware the last thing he would probably want his 'fans' to do is call other performers talentless just to praise him, right?

@theboredmoor My take re: Orpheus is that they were just trying to avoid him being like a Chris Evans “hot” guy leading man type. Not that he should be ugly, just not “conventionally” attractive. That said, the definition of conventionally attractive is quite broad and very subjective haha.

fun fact: in the original character breakdown for casting hadestown, they actually specified that: a) orpheus be played by someone "not conventionally attractive" b) hades should be played by someone "of european descent/caucasian"

@xbeforexsunrise The variety is what makes it amazing—Reeve was what got me to love Hadestown in the first place and Jack further deepened my love of the show. Really it’s a very special thing how every actor interprets the character so differently, it’s fascinating.
