I hate how people are always so quick to disparage smut in fics like do you know how hard it is to write that shit? I've read books that weren't as good as a 10k smut fic.

I know I said I was taking this week off from writing but like. What if I wrote one of those ‘what’s in your bag’ interviews where Shane is basically prepared for anything and Ilya only has a protein bar (put there by Shane), several packets of lube, and a lighter with Shane’s face on it.

@lilyrozanov I know. Im not even a writer, but it’s been painful to see the comments people are receiving. This one yesterday told an author they were writing too slow (10 days since update!) and they put their fic into ChatGPT to get the next chapter. WTF. my stomach dropped reading that

@makemegentle I think the best and only way to spot it; is when things don’t make sense. Continuity errors. Yes that can be the author rewriting and forgetting a detail they’ve already written but it can also be ai. But don’t go harassing anyone, click back and ignore

@makemegentle It’s not even that, people have been fed the wrong information. All the ways to spot ai are misleading because the ai was trained on stolen fanfiction and academia. So em dashes, Oxford commas, “it’s not this, it’s that” way of writing, etc are all common writing conventions.
