In the digital age, where content is king and attention is the currency, "The 22 Laws of Digital Writing" by @dickiebush and @Nicolascole77 emerges as a beacon for writers navigating the vast ocean of the Internet. This book isn't just a manual. it's a manifesto for those who seek to harness the power of words in a world dominated by algorithms, social media, and the relentless pace of digital consumption. As we delve into these laws, we explore not just the mechanics of writing, but the philosophy behind creating content that resonates, engages, and endures in the digital ether. Dickie Bush, through his "Ship 30 for 30" program, and Nicolas Cole, with his journey from a Quora enthusiast to a recognized digital thought leader, offer insights from their personal experiences. Their teachings are not merely about writing. They're about building a digital presence, understanding audience psychology, and leveraging the internet's vast potential for personal and professional growth. This analysis will guide you through each law, providing a deeper understanding of how to apply these principles to not only enhance your writing but to thrive as a digital creator. I want to share with you the most important lessons I've learned from this phenomenal book created by these two incredible guys. Let's get started. - Thread - 🧵

If you want to MASTER copywriting, here's the secret sauce: 1. Learn how people think. 2. Learn how people make decisions. 3. Learn how to influence these decisions. You don't have to be a good writer. All you need is to LEARN how the human brain works.

Hot take: I'm against writer fellowships. It's unrealistic to think the key to becoming a successful writer is for someone else to cut you a check so you can escape into the forest, live in a log cabin, and write. Writing in the digital age means learning how to write DESPITE the distractions that are now part of our everyday lives. And writer fellowships just postpone the problem. Said differently: I've yet to find a single writer who was coddled in a writer fellowship emerge & suddenly "make it" in the real world. They don't have thick skin. They don't know how to deal with distractions. And they never learned the skill set of being able to provide for themselves ($$$) AND nurture their craft at the same time. They get eaten alive. Which only furthers the myth: "Nobody makes a living as a writer."

@michielkerbert Without firsthand experience, it becomes difficult to develop the deep understanding and empathy needed to create solutions that truly resonate with others.

Most one-person businesses fail because they try to solve problems they haven't experienced.

One of my favorite ways of hooking a reader: Opening with a vulnerable statement. • "At 22 years old, I had no real friends." • "For 5 years, I struggled with drug addiction." • "My first business lost $10 million of investor money." Boom—now you've got their attention.

Gary Halbert, a legendary copywriter, is noted for having said, “There is almost no marketing problem that cannot be solved with a good sales letter.” Right, @Nicolascole77, @dickiebush ? 🤔

I’m watching the @thedankoe video on YT, and this way of thinking just blew my mind. Dan explains in his video that skills are essentially a collection of techniques you need to master to become an expert in a given field. This means you don’t “learn a skill” directly. Instead, you learn individual techniques, experiment with them, adapt them, and gradually add new techniques to your toolbox. Once you’ve mastered enough of these techniques and learned how to combine them, you can apply them to achieve your desired outcome. This approach is empowering because it reminds us that every skill is the result of a process, not an innate talent. Here's the full video: youtu.be/h_r6Mo8EDic?si…

The new science of cybernetics has provided compelling evidence that the so-called "subconscious" is not a separate mind but a mechanism — a goal-directed servo-system composed of the brain and nervous system, guided and controlled by the conscious mind. According to this concept, humans do not have two minds but a single mind that directs an automatic, goal-oriented machine.

Don't learn skills, acquire techniques. Your skill level depends on the amount of techniques in your toolbox that can solve problems.
