@NolleyWayne @jiujitsu199 @ruyschian I think we're talking about diff things. Agree that lowbar is ideal for moving weight. Rippetoe argues for a very unusual form of lowbar backsquat that looks like a squat/good-morning hybrid.

@IsaacAWagner @NolleyWayne @ruyschian Rippetoe plays armchair physicist. An example, he says trap bar deadlift is dangerous because bar can move in sagittal plane. What? I've been trap bar deadlifting for years and have never had the bar swing on me. I have, however, hurt my back conventional deadlifting before.

@GulagInmate5790 @ttexashedge @ruyschian It's much easier for a beginner to trap bar deadlift than conventional. Conventional requires a lot of hamstring mobility just to get into the position. For a high handle trap bar deadlift, you just need to be able to brace your core and pull with a straight back.

But, it's harmful to tell lifters that trap bar deadlift is dangerous, when it's actually much safer than conventional. For an amateur lifter, they are much more likely to blow out their back conventional deadlifting

@jiujitsu199 @ttexashedge @ruyschian This is the most hair splitting thing I've ever read. Any non-lifter would benefit from doing Starting Strength, and the imperfections you are focused on here would probably never impact them (if they are even accurate at all, which wouldn't matter anyway).

I didn't see barbell Bulgarian Split squats in starting strength, but it probably should be, along with things like lateral barbell squats and zerchers

@ttexashedge @ruyschian That's not how Science works. There are multiple ways to get results. Things are statistical. Some work better than others.. Rip doesn't care about all of that. Just whatever he has been doing for 30 years is the absolute truth. Rip falls in the category of works, but not optimal

Good way to give someone gastritis or some other horrible stomach condition. Also, I think discouraging the trap bar is also harmful. Conventional is a horrible lift for some beginners

FUTURES I don’t think anyone would’ve questioned a general 1% pullback after the rally we’ve had since March 30th, but the question now is if this becomes larger due to the escalation. I still think both sides want a deal and are having those last minute issues that always take place when trying to close a big deal, but markets will have to decide how much they believe a deal has a chance to take place… $SPY $QQQ $IWM
