This sudden horror around AI is due to the realization that a significant portion of the population is actually retarded and engages with art in a retarded way. The horror comes from realizing that most people are unable to discern quality or substance. This is partially why art was the domain of the aristocracy for so long, not just because of wealth but because of taste. People like this take for granted how anything is made. AI cannot observe the world around it and be inspired to make art. Feeding GRRM's books into a robot will not get you anything substantive, because the creation of ASOIAF was not informed by its own text. It's informed by the things GRRM observed in his own life and its informed by the way he interprets history, philosophy, politics etc. But people think if you force an AI to make an incest baby, it'll somehow come up with something good or that it will be able to anticipate GRRM's thinking. This is regardless of whether or not you think ASOIAF has any artistic value in the first place. Why would you want to read anything made in such a way? It's ridiculous.
