"Book!" has started to garner laurels from various film festivals and we couldn't be any more grateful! Looking forward to what's in store for little "Pio" but for now, we hope you enjoy this animated short. The voice over was performed by my daughter at age 6 back in 2009. The files were kept on a hard drive that spent the next 13 years in a desk drawer. In 2022 I accidentally found them during an unrelated file search and promised myself to finish what I had started. With the help of @munkduane (musical score) and @MarisaTorresArt (background art) I was able to complete the animation on March 25, 2024. The moral to this story; go search your old hard drives! You never know what you'll find!

WIP Character design and rigging - plenty still left to do. More "smart bones" to control facial features and body movements. @MohoAnimation is pretty amazing software that allows you to be as simple or as complicated as you want to be. @DeeSadler I use InDesign and Photoshop & Premiere Pro more than anything these days since moving on to a non-Adobe animation application. Love InDesign but only use it when there's a book in production.

@keyframer I use Illustrator and InDesign every month or so. Not sure why I still bother to keep the license going.

First time I've ever noticed Flash/Animate not being included in the initial list of Adobe applications. Animate is now exiled to the "Other" manual-entry text field.

Had to launch @Adobe Animate (Flash) for the first time in weeks just now. Imported a PNG file, right-clicked over it and SCREECH-CRUNCH-CRASH-POOF it was gone. Oh how the mighty have fallen. Even the "Send issue" returned an error. That 3rd option "Ignore" couldn't say it any better. RIP Flash. Thanks for good ole days.

@ASK_Animator @peterhreynolds @MohoAnimation You should! Moho totally allows you to create very unique art styles while maintaining vector quality. It's quite amazing. The rigging tools are amazing also. So many other features I haven't even tried yet.

Original Illustration by @peterhreynolds who graciously let me bring his characters to life using my favorite animation application; @MohoAnimation All the brushes you see here are vector based. Moho provides the option to add a line boil effect as well as control the width of each vector point individually. There's also a Magnet tool that allows you to manipulate multiple vector points with the strokes of your stylus. Best part of working with Moho vectors is, they are predictable and stable - unlike the previous competing software I have been using. Moho's rigging system is also very powerful and stable. At no point during the process of this animation did Moho feel slow or sluggish. In fact, the application felt light and nimble the entire time! Ton Boom Harmony, yes, I was testing it. That's another great program - but the learning curve is a bit steeper. The differentiator with @MohoAnimation is the amazing vector brushes that allow for artists to be very expressive. There's also something about Moho that is just way more fun then Harmony. Also, Harmony is VERY expensive and requires a monthly subscription. Moho is very affordable and it's a ONE TIME PURCHASE! Also, there just might be a book deal announcement 😎
