Enjoyed this interview with @clattner_llvm Software engineering isn't going anywhere, and we need more engineers wanting to become masters of their craft. AI coding tools can increase your enjoyment by removing the drudge work. They don't replace your thinking.

Let's be honest. A lot of people born in Nairobi do think like this.

Kenyans are saying that they are poor, things are expensive, and systems they pay their hard earned money for don’t work. The government in turn instead of fulfilling its mandate oscillates between whining and pumping out ItumBS to convince Kenyans that they are in fact wrong and must be imagining their poverty and rising costs of living.

Your files are dying. That SSD you keep in the closet, the one from your old system "just in case". Yup, degrading as we speak. SSDs are *shockingly* bad at power off retention, esp if it's near it's endurance rating. The JEDEC standard only requires 1 year of unpowered data retention at 30C after max TBW (writes).

The 'bystander effect' is quite deeply embedded in Kenyans. I dare say mostly among millennials & Gen X's. You can see it everywhere. Even at work. You can be going thru a difficult work situation & people will support you, but privately. In public, you'll be on your own. 1/4

One of the strengths of #Kenya is most of the most talented Kenyans stay in Kenya. Those that move abroad tend to return after a while. More experienced people in their 30s and 40s than you see in countries with a more severe brain drain problem. I hope this doesn’t change.

Athletics in Kenya. We need to embrace Science, Resources, and Good Leadership. That's it. Otherwise our glory day will be behind us. The world is *clearly* reinventing in sports in the above, and that's why we are being left behind.

NSSF Twitter - ask yourself how many of your childhood friends went to public primary and secondary schools. Compare and contrast with how many of yours and your friends’ children go to public schools. That right there is a manifestation of government FAILURE.
