We are saddened to learn of the passing of NASA astronaut Joe Engle at age 91. He was a 1955 KU aeronautical engineering grad and member of the NASA Class of '66. He commanded space shuttle missions in '81 and '85. He received KU's Distinguished Engineering Service Award in '82.

Excellent work from a team of KU Aerospace on the successful launch of KU’s first nano-satellite. The tiny device, known as a cube satellite, will orbit Earth and use a new method to measure the energy and type of primary cosmic rays hitting the Earth. bit.ly/4eTAvLk

Great group on hand to cut the ribbon for the full-scale distillation column in the KU chemical engineering unit operations lab. This is one of the few labs in the country that provides students with a hands-on, full-scale learning experience. Thanks to Koch for the support.
