My friend moved to San Francisco to work as a Staff Engineer at OpenAI
His salary? $30,000 a month
A lot of money right? Well, the reality was different:
$12,000 - rent, studio with no windows
$7,000 - tip for the landlord
$5,000 - subscription to gay sauna
$4,000 - rehab after fentanyl addiction
$2,000 - Asian prostitutes
$1,000 - Tesla lease payment
Soon he found himself in immense debt and nearly took his own life
Please, think twice before chasing the “American Dream”

The teardown was mainly based on the landing page — I haven't tried the product yet.
Happy to take a look at the no-card preview and the in-app flow this week and share my thoughts. Conversion doesn't stop at the LP — the onboarding and in-app upgrade flow matter just as much, so I'd be curious to see how yours is set up.

Diagnosed → fixed in hours. That's how indie hackers ship !🤝

This was a useful teardown from @JackChen_x. The core product value was clear, and the trust-layer critique was fair. I’ve already fixed those gaps on IdeaSaaS Good reminder that conversion problems are often trust problems first.🤝

@jaredsuniverse ideasaas.xyz It tracks repeated pain points from communities like Reddit, Hacker News, Indie Hackers, Devto, GitHub, and Product Hunt, then turns them into validated SaaS opportunities with source links and research.

I spent 2 hours diagnosing @kushagara12 's landing page for IdeaSaaS — an AI tool that scans 6 dev communities to find validated SaaS ideas. Score: 63/100. The product is genuinely useful. But the landing page has one critical flaw that's killing conversions. 🧵 Here's the full breakdown:

I built this workflow into IdeaSaaS:

Still early, but it’s already much better than saving random “startup ideas” in notes.
