manic episodes are THE defining feature of type 1 bipolar disorder. you literally only need one manic episode in your entire life to be diagnosed with it.

manic episodes are almost entirely exclusive to bipolar disorder. the ONLY exceptions are postpartum (which is rare) or drug induced mania.
if you are truly manic (you meed criteria for an episode for 7+ days), you have bipolar disorder
