Muchos españoles nos sentimos ofendidos por las palabras que dijo el Rey en México sobre los abusos ¿Debería pedir disculpas?

Recently, I learned (with some surprise) that an increasing number of universities in Europe offer master's in social sciences that take one year. This is like McDonald's in history, economics, politics. Fast food--fast learning. But there is a slow food movement. There should be a slow learning movement. Especially in social sciences. They are not sciences you can learn quickly. You may even learn some numbers or dates fast but to understand meaning of these numbers and dates you need time: time, You need years of reading and months of figuring things out. Social sciences are slow sciences. They like these restaurants with three course meals that you eat at leisure while having a nice conversation. They are not like a place where you grab a sandwich

1/ Some Simple Economics of AGI—🔥🧵 Right now, there is a low-grade panic running through the economy. Everyone is asking the same anxious question: what exactly is AI going to automate, and what will be left for us?

"La reforma de un estado corrupto debe ser el trabajo de un solo hombre", decía Maquiavelo. Yo prefiero la moderna teoría del liderazgo, donde no sólo vale con un líder que nos presente una visión atractiva del futuro, sino que debe ser creíble que sea capaz de llevarnos allí.

Another top deal maker abandons Britain, this time for Luxembourg The departure of James Brocklebank, private equity (PE) firm Advent’s head of Europe, is a sign that the PE industry is shifting out of the UK, following Labour's tax hikes. Advent has invested £5.5 bn of equity in UK companies. The industry as a whole invested £29.4 bn into UK businesses in 2024. 1/2
