@diamondsdayy i absolutely agree! i feel too it shifted from "i want power and will do whatever it takes to get it" to "i still want power, but if others walk with me and hold me accountable along the way, i welcome power together" and i think that's a nice take.

@lumeradiance also them actually not granting him the title of benevolent knight and letting it go to rest because neither Theodore nor Lohen lived up to it... one of Genshin's better writing choices imo

i truly do hope that traveler and lohen have more opprotunities to work together, spend time and delve into one another's antics. as much as traveler and paimon see lohen as eccentric and odd, they do seem to soften to him and want to understand him, and vice versa.

but in the end, even if their emotions and obsession with a goal clouded their judgement, or perhaps a twist of their heart made them falter off the right path...both inevitably chose the greater good and to persue something different from a potential reckless fate.

another small thing i noticed: lohen and the traveler aren't honestly all that different. both have sought and persued power for different reasons (for self-sufficiency and survival vs to assist others and find their sibling) and both learn to use that power for "just" purposes.

and that is what i find endearing about him as a character and his story the most. he recognizes his flaws and errors, and rather than continuing to run from them or drown them out, he confronts them and slowly starts the catalyst for development and change.

and in the end, despite him deciding he still wishes to seek power and strength...the events that took place changed his perspective. he decided that perhaps, it was best if he allowed others in, allowed others to walk along his path in pursuit of strength and rememberance.

he may not be a perfect victim, but it's important for those to know who deal with such heavy, complex trauma that healing isn't linear nor is it the same for each person, that re-traumatization and the cycle of abuse / trauma is hard to break, and support systems are crucial.

and yet, in the end, he chose to end that traumatic cycle and break away in his own way, with his own two hands. he chose to do the right thing, to walk the path of someone who chose to confront his trauma and heal head-on, even if it may take him time to adjust and find it.

in addition, i think it's quite refreshing that lohen (along with other characters) symbolizes how not only trauma can fundamentally change you as a person and alter your life, but it can lead to the cycle of trauma continuing until you, individually, learn to break it.
