Do you understand the importance and gravity of that rescue operation? Just because you saw those helicopters being destroyed, it does not mean that the Iranians killed American soldiers. Otherwise, Iran would have released photographs of the dead American soldiers. Often, in such operations, helicopters must be destroyed because they penetrate deep into enemy territory; if, for any reason, a helicopter is unable to fly back or sustains damage, Special Forces personnel destroy it themselves to prevent the enemy from studying the aircraft. The United States did precisely this during the operation against OBL in Pakistan.

The objective was to safely extract and rescue the pilot; U.S. Special Forces achieved this objective. the US easily rescued its second pilot from deep within Iranian territory; this demonstrates the strength of the US Armed Forces and the weakness of the Iranian regime's forces. These losses hold no particular significance for the United States, as no American soldiers were killed in this attack.
