🚨 | Aston Martin says that finishing the Australian Grand Prix this weekend will be impossible due to unexpected vibrations. The aim is to prevent the electrical part of the Honda engine from being damaged as quickly as happened in Bahrain testing. Aston Martin already knows that it will not finish the race with both cars. Adrian Newey: “That vibration [issue] is causing a few reliability problems, mirrors falling off, all that sort of thing, which we are having to address. But the much more significant problem is that that vibration is transmitted ultimately into the driver's fingers. So, Fernando is of the feeling that he can't do more than 25 laps consecutively before he will risk permanent nerve damage to his hands. Lance is of the opinion that he can't do more than 15 laps before that threshold.” #F1 #AusGP

An announcement: I've been asked to be an advisor to projectearth.global and I'm so happy to be involved. I've filmed many stories for the BBC at universities and schools, and it's taught me two things: 1. Plenty of young people are worried about the future of the planet, and understandably so. 2. Young people have some of the best ideas, because they aren't shackled by traditional corporate thinking. Project Earth is an accelerator for students from 8 to 18. These are the people with enormous potential, big ideas and a huge reason for wanting their ideas to be heard. The project encourages technological innovation, social transformation and cultural exchange, and we've found that tackling problems collaboratively helps to alleviate climate anxiety. I'll be helping some of the teams to shape their ideas for Pitch for the Planet 2026 at The Royal Institution - an opportunity for students from schools across the world to pitch ideas to an audience of investors and advisors.
