Productive meeting yesterday with a dedicated group of South Carolina farmers, many from right here in Sumter. Their insight and ideas are invaluable as we work to strengthen our agricultural community and improve conditions for farmers across our state.

Grateful to spend another Christmas season with the children of the Croswell Home at their annual Christmas Party. This marks my second year attending, and it truly warms my heart to see the excitement on these kids’ faces as Santa arrived with gifts and holiday cheer. A heartfelt thank you to Wayne and Wanda Hunter for their continued support and for opening the beautiful O’Donnell House to show such love and generosity to these children. And a special shoutout to the wonderful Christmas carolers whose songs filled the home with joy—captured in this moment. This is what the season is all about. 🎄🎅

It was an honor to officially be named Chairman of the SLLF Speaker’s Conference last night. It was a pleasure gathering with other Speakers from all over the country in New York this week, and I am excited to announce South Carolina as the host state for the 2026 Conference!

Yesterday I had the privilege of speaking with the Edward K. Hardin Pre-Law Society at my alma mater, Wofford College. I shared my own journey from Wofford student to attorney and now Speaker of the South Carolina House, and reflected on how my time here shaped the path I'm on today. It was a joy to offer advice to the next generation of lawyers and leaders, and I look forward to seeing all they accomplish.

Thrilled to be in Germany this week alongside @henrymcmaster , @SCSenatePres, and @SCcommerce as we celebrate 50 years of the South Carolina Europe Office and the strong transatlantic partnerships that continue to fuel our state’s growth. It was an honor to tour Vacuumschmelze and discuss their cutting-edge materials technology and exciting plans to expand their E-VAC operations in Sumter. A special moment: seeing two Sumter-based team members working hard on preparations for the 2026 opening—it was great to see familiar faces so far from home! We also had a fantastic visit with Continental Tire at their headquarters. We discussed the company’s continued investment in its Sumter facility and even stopped by the conference room proudly labeled “Sumter.” Both companies are outstanding partners, helping drive economic opportunity and innovation not only in Sumter but across South Carolina. I’m encouraged by the meaningful conversations we had about growing South Carolina’s role as a hub for advanced manufacturing. Thank you to our German partners for the warm hospitality and continued commitment to our shared success. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims of the tragic events in Minnesota. Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman was a fellow member of the State Legislative Leaders Foundation, and her loss will be felt deeply by all those who knew her. This kind of political hatred and violence has no place in our nation and must be eradicated.
