"My method is different. I do not rush into actual work. When I get an idea I start at once building it up in my imagination. I change the construction, make improvements, and operate the device entirely in my mind."

You need to ritualize your courage. Take it from me nothing is easier than sitting at home infinitely preparing for some hypothetical future battlefield. Ask people boldly for everything you want and watch their faces closely, see where they hesitate, where they lose interest, where they half-smile with pity. Let people reveal their preferences and reject the fruits of your labor.
You will learn more from a single humiliation than you will from weeks spent examining yourself to prevent it.

A disciple woke before dawn, shivering.
He looked outside. The wind was harsh.
“I will not meditate today,” he thought.
He went to his master and said,
“Master, the weather is not right.”
The master stepped outside, stood still, and said,
“The weather is not right for your comfort.
But it is perfect for your discipline.”
The disciple bowed and sat anyway.
............
Do what needs to be done today whether you feel like it or not.
Your future pays the price of your inaction, not your feelings.

The most iconic line from this book is: We have to remember that what we observe is not nature in itself but nature exposed to our method of questioning.

In chess, the most powerful move is often the quietest one. Not the aggressive attack. Not the flashy sacrifice. The small repositioning that nobody notices until it's too late.
The same applies to life. The most dangerous men don't announce their next move. They don't broadcast their strategy. They just quietly reposition themselves, day after day, until one morning the people who counted them out wake up and realise the game already ended.
You don't need to be loud about what you're building. You just need to keep building while everyone else is talking.

In Japanese archery there's a discipline called kyudo. The goal isn't to hit the target. The goal is to perfect the form. The belief is that if the archer's posture, breathing, and focus are correct, the arrow will find the target on its own.
Apply that to your life. Stop obsessing over the result. Perfect the process. Fix your daily habits, your discipline, your mental clarity. Get those right and the outcomes you're chasing will arrive without you forcing them.

Your entire life will change the day you realize real confidence is less about knowing you’ll win and more about knowing you’ll bounce back even if you don’t. Real confidence is resilience. Adaptability. Tolerance for uncertainty. Fear loses when you know failure is never final.

It’s an elite mindset to live like everything is going to work out. Not necessarily being blindly optimistic, but just knowing whatever happens, you’ll figure it out
