@woke8yearold Your vote matters just as much as anyone else’s vote. Why wouldn’t you vote as if your vote is pivotal?

Since people are still arguing over the blue vs red button, the actual reason to pick red is that you are not deciding what sort of person should live or how humans should behave. Your vote is not going to decide the issue, all you can do is make urself safer

As promised, here’s my full in depth response to this thought experiment under a game theory lens. Super interested in any objections! :) 🔗: @hampsters/note/p-195669441?r=5a4v6d&utm_medium=ios&utm_source=notes-share-action" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">substack.com/@hampsters/not…

Everyone in the world has to take a private vote by pressing a red or blue button. If more than 50% of people press the blue button, everyone survives. If less than 50% of people press the blue button, only people who pressed the red button survive. Which button would you press?

Nobody: Me in my best alien voice: Greetings. I am a quaternion 👽 my name is z = a+bi+cj+dk. I live at (a,b,c,d) in R4 dimensional real vector space. You can find me at (b,c,d) in space at time a.

@ChrisPacia No I would not expect 100% of people to choose red. Children. Confused elderly people. Suicidal people… 100% majority red is almost impossible which is why aiming for 50% + 1 blue is the only option that makes sense in the original poll

One more attempt at articulating why the red button pushers view the blue button pushers as so irrational. Let's say your options are this: Red Button: Nothing happens to you. Blue Button: Kills you instantly. If everyone is confronted with that choice, why would anyone push the blue button? Would we not expect 100% of people to push the red button? Now if you change the terms and add a proviso that the blue button pushers will be spared if a majority of people push the blue button, wouldn't your reaction be: "Ok, well. We've already established that nobody's going to push to Blue Button so this shouldn't change anything for anyone". If your reaction suddenly becomes "Omg we need to organize a campaign to get everyone to push the blue button and you're Hitler if you push red" ... Its like.. um what?

@probabilitysoup You're telling as if the results indicate there's an almost certainty blue always wins

In Aella's real-world test with real consequences, it was all adults, so no "child who couldn't know what to press" needed to be saved. And yet, 58% still decided to introduce risk where there was none, to save people who didn't need to be saved. Pure suicidal ideology.

I have no idea why you would press the red button. It's 100% vs 51% the answer is clear here.

@MntlRCabeza @sopbeen @DierkingJakob @Sonrilol @Staladus And like I said elsewhere I can’t explain all the math and physics of reality to someone who doesn’t want to understand… did you or did you not press a button labeled red on your computer when you voted? JUST as stated in the “hypothetical” poll?

@probabilitysoup @LifeNewsHQ The definition of murder does not include self-defense. Pregnancy is not ALWAYS a threat. Terminating a pregnancy to save a mother’s life - like an ectopic pregnancy - does not constitute abortion and is not a controversial medical decision that is prevented by anti-abortion laws

If unborn babies are human beings, abortion is murder. Science says unborn babies are human beings. Therefore, abortion is murder.

@MntlRCabeza @sopbeen @DierkingJakob @Sonrilol @Staladus Then explain the principal stopping the shooter? Or the 2 or 3 people who rushed to pull a woman out of a burning vehicle? Or firefighters, police, military and nurses?? Explain blue winning in the extremely real poll??
