Last night, JCRC-NY hosted its first-ever Latino-Jewish Seder, celebrating the deep connections—and overlaps—between the Jewish and Latino communities. As we retold the story of the Exodus and shared matzah and wine, we reflected on its resonance with today’s struggles for freedom, resilience, and justice, building stories and solidarity together.

These racist comments are horrendous. Racism has no place anywhere, especially when directed at our kids. Schools and community spaces must be places of dignity and safety. DOE must investigate this incident and address broader issues of racism within our school communities.

🧵As a child was speaking about not losing her UWS school, an adult cut her off, unaware that the whole meeting could hear them. “They’re too dumb to know they’re in a bad school. If you train a Black person well enough, they’ll know to use the back." westsiderag.com/2026/02/20/rac…

Disgusting and despicable. Dehumanizing any group of people is dangerous and history shows where that language leads. Americans, particularly our nation’s leaders, should never rank the value of human beings. We protect one another. “E Pluribus Unum” We will stand against Islamophobia, antisemitism, xenophobia, and all bigotry every time, without exception.

If they force us to choose, the choice between dogs and Muslims is not a difficult one.

On behalf of JCRC-NY and in partnership with @UJAfedNY and CSI, JCRC-NY CEO @MarkTreyger718 joined State Senator Sam Sutton, @GovKathyHochul , Senate Majority Deputy Leader Giannaris, many distinguished elected officials from both parties, multi-faith clergy, and community residents to speak with one voice in condemning the disgraceful and disgusting swastikas scrawled on Magen David Yeshiva and found on other places today in Southern Brooklyn. An attack on one community is an attack on all. Every leader from every level of government across the political spectrum has a responsibility to root this hate out and bring people together.  Big thank you to the NYPD for their immediate response and investigation into this vile hate crime.

With his comments about how Jews should or should not vote in the New York Mayoral election, @POTUS divides religious communities for the purposes of political gain--what the Religion Clauses of the US Constitution intended to prevent. He can do better. @JCRCNY @URJPresident @TheRAC @jdforward

Our thoughts are with the people of Jamaica as they face this devastating hurricane, and with our Jamaican American friends here in New York who are anxiously thinking about loved ones and communities impacted. Wishing safety, strength resilience, and protection for all those in its path. And we are here to help in any way we can.

On the 7th anniversary of the Tree of Life Synagogue shooting — the deadliest antisemitic attack in U.S. history — JCRC-NY mourns the loss of the 11 members of Pittsburgh’s Jewish community whose lives were viciously taken that day. As antisemitism continues to rise in NY, JCRC-NY remains committed to combating hate before it takes root. Hate will not solve hate. We honor the Tree of Life victims by building bridges across our city’s diverse communities to combat both antisemitism and all forms of hate, and to ensure such an atrocity never happens again. And we remain eternally grateful to the NYPD and all those that risk their lives for the safety of all New Yorkers. No one should ever have to live or pray in fear because of their identity. No one.

This is nothing more than a continuation of the president’s desperate weaponization of our justice system. I am not fearful — I am fearless. We will fight these baseless charges aggressively, and my office will continue to fiercely protect New Yorkers and their rights.
