This is a significant development for Sunni and Shia communities in India. Moulana Khalil-ur-Rahman Sajjad Nomani, a prominent Deobandi scholar and son of the late Moulana Manzur Nomani (r.a.), visited leading Shia scholars in Delhi to show support for the Shia community amid the Iran-Israel war.
Remember who this man is. He is not an ordinary Deobandi living in the West; he is one of India's foremost scholars. Additionally, his father, Moulana Manzur, was a renowned debater and scholar of the Deobandi seminary, known for his writings against Iran in the 1980s. His book ‘Irani Inqilab’ (Iranian Revolution) is widely recognised, which I read many years ago, attests to his prominence.
Therefore, Moulana Sajjad Nomani has emphasised that he is fully aware of the theological differences, as his father authored academic works on the subject. However, he stated that now is not the time to dwell on these differences; he described such debates as highly “foolish” and “irresponsible,” since the enemy does not differentiate between Sunni and Shia. He affirms that the attack on the Shia is an attack on Islam.
Scholars like Mufti Taqi Usmani and Moulana Sajjad Nomani, among others, are true representatives of Islam. It is encouraging to see greater unity in Pakistan and India. Unfortunately, sectarianism appears to be more prevalent in the UK, which is baffling.

After failing to protect their bases from Iranian strikes, the #US military embedded their forces in civilian areas, effectively using civilians as human shields and knowingly placing them under harm to protect their own troops.

🇦🇪 EGA's Al Taweelah Halts Operations After Iranian Strike
Emirates Global Aluminium's Al Taweelah facility, one of the world's largest aluminium smelters, located in Abu Dhabi's Khalifa Economic Zone roughly halfway between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, has fully halted operations after Saturday's Iranian missile and drone attack destroyed its power plant. The power plant, carbon area, and aluminium handling area sustained the heaviest damage.
Workers have been sent home, though EGA says jobs are secure.
🇧🇭 Bahrain's Alba, the world's largest single-site aluminium smelter, was also struck and is now operating at just 30% capacity.
The scale of disruption is significant. Wood Mackenzie, a leading global energy and natural resources consultancy widely regarded as a benchmark source for commodity market analysis, warns the conflict could wipe out 3 to 3.5 million tonnes of global aluminium output in 2026.
The US imports roughly 21% of its primary aluminium from the UAE and Bahrain combined, meaning American industry is directly exposed to the fallout.
