A quick update: The surgery to remove my left arm was successful with hopes of an eventual prosthetic replacement. Similarly, the femur and patella surgeries were also successful and the fantastic surgery team was able to save my left leg.  To best focus on my healing and recovery, I’m stepping away indefinitely and will be placed on leave from ESPN. While youth sports are the topic du jour (though really when are they not)... Why do summer travel ball tournaments keep starting starting earlier and earlier in the week? My brother has coached 15 + 16U travel baseball teams for close to a decade. He'd initially have to take off a Friday here and there to be at games. Then, a few years ago, some Thursdays too.
