A source confirmed that Luchi Gonzalez isn't replacing anyone on the current staff. John Wolyniec (Technical Director), Alex Saunders (Director of Academy Operations), and Alex Covelo (Director of Methodology) will continue in the their roles.

Luchi Gonzalez has been named the director of the #Quakes74 academy. The former head coach takes over the role that was vacated when Chris Leitch was promoted to General Manager. Luchi definitely thrived in that role when with FC Dallas.

Three solid squad players, with Mark-Anthony Kaye a player who could make an impact. He's on an $750K annual salary, according to numbers released by the @MLSPA. According to a source, New England will be covering up to $300K of that salary in the coming season.

@futbolmonkey Given that negotiations for the deal were initiated earlier this year, the thought was that today would result in the board approving the terms after public comment. I'm surprised it needed to go back to negotiations, but at least the main objections have been aired.

@robertjonas Once the differences are squared away, does that mean that the vote in January is more of a formality?

After a very lengthy decision, the County Board of Supervisors decided to send the term sheet back for additional negotiations with the Earthquakes organization. It's likely to come back to the Board for a public vote in January.

@futbolmonkey Yeah, Daniel is on an option for next year, so could be best to get him healthy if they plan to keep him around. Wilson is already under contract for next season.

@robertjonas Unless the club is evaluating whether to keep the player after this season, no point in risking injury to those that are just recovering. What’s point? Pride? That went out the window early in the season. I think especially with Daniel, they been rushing him back only to get hurt

#Quakes74 head coach Ian Russell shared that a couple players are closer to returning from injury and could feature this weekend and next week: goalkeeper Daniel is showing improvement, and defender Bruno Wilson has been training fully following surgery earlier this season.

The Black & Gold just wrapped up training and according to Head Coach Steve Cherundolo, @LAFC’s new French striker Olivier Giroud will be available for selection. Giroud is expected to make his debut tomorrow vs SJ in the @LeaguesCup Rd of 16. Pregame 7pm on @ESPNLosAngeles
