I was really excited that the US was doing so well in the World Cup until Trump ruined it. Most people know that Trump is a cheater. He cheated on his wives. He cheated in business. And just last year, he robbed the American people of $1.2 billion through his crypto scams. He has also been caught multiple times on camera cheating at golf: improving his lie, moving his ball, and taking drops that violated the rules. Even some of his playing partners have acknowledged it publicly. So when reports emerged that Trump called FIFA President Gianni Infantino (the same guy who made up a FIFA peace price for Trump) and asked him to lift the red-card suspension of American striker Folarin Balogun, he essentially robbed the US team of its dignity. Tonight, the US team will play against Belgium. But even if they win, they will win because Trump cheated. We, the United States of America, have cheated. Sports are built on one simple principle: the rules apply to everyone. Americans were proud of the US team. They earned their place through talent, discipline, and hard work. They deserved to be the story. Trump robbed them of it.

This is an absolute embarrassment to the United States. Once again our President embarrasses our nation on the world stage and now takes to social media, boosting that his phone call to FIFA changed the outcome 🤦🏻‍♂️ Absolutely horrible precedent being set here. As a US citizen I will be routing for Belgium to win this game. Not because I don’t love my country, but as a lifelong professional sportsman that has dedicated his career to growing sport around the world.
