One more reason why Line 3 avoids railway stations:
You can't dig around them. Realistically they're too cramped. And play too closely, you rupture the artery of Mumbai. Imagine one track getting out of service, and the mayhem that follows.
This is pure risk assessment.

Line 3 feels empty because it is already planned and executed keeping future demands in mind. The day Line 7A (3.2km section) is complete, you'll have a Mira Road to Cuffe Parade alignment. WR alternative. There's a reason why the line avoids railway stations.

Add to this, @MMMOCL_Official is running Depot bound services till Ovaripada from Gundavali. Why not run a simple straight Dahanukarwadi train if the train is anyway going to depot. Why inconvenience passengers to get down midway, not even at interchange but midway!
