@TuomasPernu yeah sure he's famous and one of the voices in the discussion, but has an agenda of his own. Personally I have a hard time understanding the claim that neural nets are not *a* model of how neurons work. sure they are, at some level of abstraction.

@samulipo Well, Dr Marcus has been a forceful critic of this paradigm. He has been critical - very vocally so - of our current AI hype in general, but the specific idea that the current AI architecture is based on how neurons work in particular. So: let's debate all this!

Mua tässä viehättää anti-augustinolainen ajatusettä usein ajatus ihmismielen/-sielun syvyyksistä on vain itseimartelua. Hyvää evidenssiä siitä että osa meidänkin kognitiosta next token prediction

@samulipo @AnttiLatvala No juu, multimodaalisuus ja robotiikka vie hommaa eteenpäin (?). Yksi pointsini on, että *toiminnallisuus pitää tuoda mukaan. Mutta sitten on tietty monenlaista toimijuutta. Ihmisten merkityksille oleellista on sosiaalinen/kulttuurinen toimijuus. Kaukana tästä ollaan.
