Prices won't drop. Not even by ₹1. Because this cut isn't for you. It's for Oil Marketing Companies. OMCs are bleeding ₹2,400 crore daily. High global oil prices. Losses mounting. Government's solution? Cut their tax burden. Your relief? Zero. Excise duty cut = ₹5,500 crore loss to govt in 15 days. But OMCs get to breathe. Consumers get nothing. Private companies already hiked prices. Nayara Energy raised petrol and diesel rates. This is fiscal cushion. Not consumer relief. The government protects companies. Companies protect margins. Modi heart beats only for oil companies. When crude was $50, no benefit was passed to the end consumer. When diluted E20 was forced, no benefit was passed to the end customer. Now with crude at $100+, Modi feels oil companies should make money. He reduces his taxes for them.
