1/5 Iran spent 40+ years threatening to close the Strait of Hormuz. Posters, speeches, war games, etc. The one thing they apparently never war-gamed: what happens to our own wells, and our own gas stations, when we're the ones blockaded.
Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Kuwait are net refined products exporters. Iran can't fuel its own cars without importing gasoline.
However, yes, the oil clock runs for everyone in the Gulf. It runs fastest for the country with no exits.
Saudi built exits. UAE built exits. Iran built speeches.

Listen I’m all for ending this war as soon as possible but all these people claiming knowledge of oil well dynamics in Iran if there is a shut in never mention how that same calculation could affect oil wells across the Gulf….

In the Netherlands, it’s been revealed that 125 students were forced to live with 125 asylum seekers in a government “integration experiment.” The result: gang rape, multiple sexual assaults, and knife crime targeting students.

Something reflected in the NYT story about the leaked memos that does not make sense in the modern era is the continued practice of Justices employing "Law Clerks" 2-3 years out of law school with no actual experience practicing law as their main source of staff help.
In a bygone era that might have been an appropriate method of operation.
In the modern era, with tens of thousands of highly intelligent and talented practicing attorneys with a decade or more of experience, who would sacrifice a year of their practice to spend that year working on the staff of a Supreme Court Justice, continuing to use 20-something quasi-students in that role makes no sense.
There is no functional difference between that law clerk and a first year associate from an Ivy League law school at a big law firm that gets nothing of importance to handle without massive supervision.
Kicking those kids around courtrooms is quite entertaining.
This SCOTUS practice should end.

If this is true, then he should fire his Twitter guy because whoever it is clearly has an agenda of highlighting specific things to push a specific political narrative.

Anyone notice what’s missing from this video?
The video shows four Western European leaders hugging each other and patting one another their backs. It shows them striding forcefully!
You know what you don’t see?
Ships! There’s not a warship to be seen.
Just like real life.

On April 18th 1983, the organization which would later name itself Hezbollah carried out a suicide bombing attack against the U.S. Embassy in Beirut, 63 people, including 17 Americans.
A suicide bomber drove a Chevrolet van packed with 2,000 pounds of explosives into the embassy.
The blast destroyed much of the front of the seven-story building.
63 people were killed, among them 17 Americans (including several CIA officers and a journalist).
The perpetrator was from the Islamic Jihad Organization (IJO) but the real responsibility was with Hezbollah and the Islamic regime in Iran.
The Islamic Jihad Organization was an early cover name and operational arm for what became Hezbollah.
Hezbollah itself did not publicly announce its existence until 1985, so it often operated under the IJO name in the early 1980s for plausible deniability.
U.S. investigations and intelligence assessments later attributed the attack to Hezbollah, with direct support, financing, and direction from Iran (via the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and Ministry of Intelligence).
Hezbollah has historically denied direct responsibility for the 1983 embassy bombing and the related October 1983 Marine barracks bombing in which 241 U.S. soldiers and 58 French soldiers were killed, but U.S. government assessments, declassified intelligence and expert analyses all say IJO attacks to Hezbollah’s emerging network and their backers in Tehran.
