(2/2) Last week I joined colleagues, community members, and the Stop the Cross Bronx Expansion Coalition at a rally to oppose the potential widening of the Cross Bronx Expressway.

For decades, the Cross Bronx Expressway has been a symbol of poor urban planing that has caused division, pollution, and negative health consequences for residents of the Bronx. (1/2)

Yesterday, the New York State Senate passed my bill, S.1057 This legislation will strengthen the reporting requirements for parkland alienation to ensure the replacement and preservation of our much needed parks and green spaces. (1/2)

The arts, culture, and music have a profound impact on the lives of students across New York State. This week I was proud to sponsor a Senate Resolution memorializing Governor Hochul to proclaim March 2026 as Youth Art Month in the State of New York. (1/2)

As Chair of Cultural Affairs, Tourism, Parks & Recreation, I believe that tourism is a major economic generator for NYS. Yesterday, I was happy to join the Tourism Advisory Council for their meeting held at the @nysmuseum. We discussed tourism efforts across all regions of NYS.

Connecting our youth to nature is one of the best ways to improve their overall health and wellness. This week I was happy to meet with the @FreshAirFund to discuss their programs and ways that we can connect more youth from our community to summer camp and outdoor activities.
