Finally out @NatureNeuro with @anne_churchland, @XRichardSun, @YinChaoqun, and our twittlerless colleagues. go.nature.com/3Hb9ovs 🥳 Also, check out the great partner paper from @hm_mohan, revealing cell type-specific cortical subnetworks during feeding. rdcu.be/c4llH

Our study on mesoscale cortical activity in different pyramidal neuron types is finally out on biorxiv: biorxiv.org/content/10.110…. Excitatory cell types show unique cortex-wide dynamics and task-related activity! Big thanks to @xrichardsun and @anne_churchland! Short thread below.

Exicted to share our new preprint on how mice transfer sensory information and working memory across hemispheres. Quick answer, it depends on the mouse! Heroic work by @elad_avidan1 with help from @ShlomoSherer. Most difficult mouse training ever! biorxiv.org/content/10.648…

@ArielGilad @yaelesther @mattlark Congratulations Ariel, this looks super interesting! We are also working on something related, perhaps we can get together and compare notes some time 🙂

Super excited to share our preprint on cortex-wide dynamics of different layers across leearning, by @yaelesther with collab. Robert Sachdev and @mattlark! Take home message: learning is NOT about the cortical column, it's extra-columnar! Please repost! biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Our work is officially online now! 🥳🥳@MelinMaxwell @rojasbowe_ @anne_churchland Key points: 1st, we found that, consistent with previous studies, consecutive trials within behavioral sessions of a decision-making task can be divided into engaged and disengaged states. (1/8)

Importantly, the approach is not limited to Neuropixels. UnitRefine works well on very different datasets, including MEAs or wire recordings in humans, and it is quite easy to train models with different metric combinations. If you curate any ephys data this might be worth a try!

Very happy to finally have this project out! UnitRefine is a toolbox to facilitate spike sorting curation by learning from expert-labeled datasets. Trained on Neuropixels recordings and tested across species and labs, it achieves high accuracy and generalizes well to unseen data.

Finally out this amazing tool developed by @AnoushkaJain3 for automated spike sorting!!! @simonMusall For neuropixels and spiking data users, it is worth a try! biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Now finally out in @NatureComms ! The new version includes major additions to explore the role of surround suppression in the processing of broadband visual stimuli in the visual system of mice. Congratulations to @elisabetaballa and the whole team! nature.com/articles/s4146…

New study on bioRxiv where we investigate how the visual system encodes complex visual stimuli with various statistical features of the natural scenery and how they affect visual perception: biorxiv.org/content/10.110… Fun collaboration with @elisabetaballa and Bjoern Kampa.

Happy to share our paper published in @SfNJournals. David Levitan and I studied the relationship between amygdala and cortex as mice learn a discrimination task. We combined wide field imaging and fiber photometry in during the whole learning period jneurosci.org/content/44/34/…
