The fact England hasn’t been selected to stage the World Cup since 1966 is (literally) criminal.
There is not a country on the planet that has a higher volume, value, quality and concentration of World class stadiums, grounds, training facilities, infrastructure, diverse community, culture, history, hospitality and overall fan fever pitch to host the World’s beautiful game.
Due to the FIFA continental host rules we probably can’t expect earlier than a 2042 window. If that’s the case we should go ALL IN for 2042.
A joint England, Wales, Scotland & Ireland bid.
Jesus wept, I’ll be 67. Guess the best things come to those who wait 😬😬😬

@KeithMillsD7 In 82 Germany and Austria blatantly match fixed to advance to the next round at the expense of Algeria
And got away with it. No punishment, no reprimand, nothing
English

The worst World Cup was 1978 where Argentina literally cheated to victory.

The worst World Cup of all-time was Korea/Japan 2002. Korea in the semifinals was so rigged LOL 😭 Even if this year disappoints, nothing will be worse than 2002.

@cowlonfull From what I’ve gathered, people won’t root for them because they hate Trump and he’s the current president and because Pulisic did the “Trump dance” once, and they hate Trump. Has little to do with the team and everything to do with politics, which is stupid
English

@The_OrangeBlack @cowlonfull Slavery, war, colonialism
Because the U.S. is the only country that ever practiced these things
English

@cowlonfull What “moral reason” is there to not root for USMNT? And don’t say anything about politics because politics have absolutely nothing to do with sports and vice versa
English

@cowlonfull Hating the U.S. for moral reasons is fine if you’re supporting, say Denmark
But don’t think many of these countries can boast very good morality, especially if you look at their histories
English

@500greatalbums I legit get Curaçao and Cape Verde mixed up
And Uzbekistan and Uruguay (no not really)
Català

This is the first FIFA World Cup where I’ve never heard of some of the countries taking part. #WorldCup

Here’s what I don’t understand
England’s games are in:
Arlington, Tex (indoors)
Foxborough, Mass (climate comparable to Europe)
East Rutherford, NJ (5pm kickoff)
Why is Tuchel training the team in South Florida in the summer?
Are they training for guerilla warfare in Vietnam?
No Context World Cup@NoContextEPL
England players are said to be already struggling with the climate in Florida in their training sessions.🥵 Expecting the heat to be a huge topic of conversation among pundits and analysts throughout this World Cup.
English

@DougSchneeberg They aren’t. Palm Beach Gardens is some 70 miles north of Miami
English

@soccersource If they are training at InterMiami's facilities then the natural connection is David Beckham. But, I am not entirely sure that is the case here.
English

@soccersource I reckon it's more likely that he's hoping to make the knockout stages than training for guerrilla warfare in Vietnam, but admittedly, I am only speculating.
English

@teocal_cruz @Dankb1090 Heat during the day, yes
Altitude, absolutely (that’s the big one)
Smog: sure but not as bad as it once was
Humidity? No
English

@soccersource @Dankb1090 You are right…it’s worse. Heat, humidity, altitude, and smog. All those are things England doesn’t really have
English

@ReeceKilljoyN @KevTwine86 They probably will but this being England…
English

@soccersource @KevTwine86 You honestly think England won’t get through the group 😂
