@Skittymon I think it’s also partially to do with irl cultural attitudes that prefer to justify sa than condemn the perpetrator, so fictionally it becomes this weird gray area that sets off a red flag instead of being able to cast reasonable doubt

I noticed this a lot when it comes to Dabi vs Endeavor in mha. People hate Endeavor more because he abused characters we know and care about. Dabi is a serial murderer, but since he killed randos and not named characters it doesn’t feel as bad even though it’s the worse crime

@herrlawyers That’s because they’re desensitised to fictional murder It isn’t “icky” or gross to them, as death is too incomprehensible for them to deem a sin against the self For characters with high kill counts, those victims are nameless and faceless, therefore they don’t exist at all
