@sushifops Dugtrio simply had the tools needed to utilize the BST adjustments.
In combination with a powerful ability/moves is what will make a Pokémon succeed, but we’re given reason to believe that Pokémon can receive all 3 main buffs.

One thing the 3DS era of Pokémon doesn’t get enough credit for is buffing older Pokémon’s BSTs

@nangongyuri This I feel was the main issue with Shunguang. Because they introduced her in the same patch they wanted to make her playable, instead of a slow burn seeing a close friend lose herself, we speedrun her entire arc.

@PingleBobberson That's because Arena Trap is busted. You dont see that buff do something for it in ZU. If it actually set a precedent, we would see more significant jumps rather than isolated cases of a PU mon rising to NU.

Some slight changes to BSTs could change a few interactions and carve out niches for specific Pokémon
The +20 ATK on Dugtrio allowed it to reliably Trap & 2HKO Magearna with Earthquake or OHKO with Tectonic Rage in Gen 7 Ubers

I genuinely think it’s time Peppy and Slippy became playable in smash. They’re arguably the most iconic Nintendo characters not yet playable (alongside Toad & Dixie Kong). Yeah they wouldn’t be that unique, but 2 more lower effort characters is fine. They’re arguably overdue.

@justaguy0507 @SLASHER13K If a ki blast that later blew up the moon did nothing to Raditz, it would be safe to assume that a punch that does hurt him would be much stronger. And Raditz became fodder immediately by the next arc. So imagine just how much stronger those later ki blasts are.

@SLASHER13K @sushifops No cause ki attacks are stronger than physical attacks. We see this when the Kamehameha raised Goku’s PL. If someone has to do a ki blast to destroy a planet, that wouldn’t necessarily mean they can do the same with a punch.
