Press Statement: Khartoum Commends Mogadishu’s Supportive Position in Confronting the Crisis Sparked by the Rebel Rapid Support Militia, as Sudan and Somalia Affirm Strengthened Political Consultation
Sudan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation issued a press statement announcing the convening of the second session of the Political Consultation Committee between the Republic of Sudan and the Federal Republic of Somalia, held in the Somali capital, Mogadishu, on the morning of Thursday, April 2, 2026.
According to the statement, the Sudanese delegation was headed by Ambassador Muawiya Osman Khalid, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, while the Somali delegation was led by Mr. Hamza Adam Haji, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
The statement noted that the two sides discussed areas of mutual cooperation and ways to strengthen bilateral relations, building on the deep-rooted historical ties between the two countries and their alignment on regional and international issues.
Both delegations affirmed their commitment to advancing bilateral relations to broader horizons by expanding cooperation across various sectors and enhancing coordination and consultation in regional and international forums, in a manner that serves shared interests and reflects the depth of ties and unity of destiny between the two brotherly peoples in the face of current challenges.
The statement also conveyed the Sudanese delegation’s appreciation for the sincere and brotherly position expressed by the Somali government, leadership and people, in their steadfast support for Sudan during the ongoing crisis, which was ignited by the rebel Rapid Support Militia with regional and international backing. It emphasized that such positions reflect the depth of Arab and African solidarity and a principled commitment to safeguarding national state institutions and preserving sovereignty.
For his part, the head of the Somali delegation stressed the strength and solidity of relations between the two countries, affirming the existence of strong political will on the part of both leaderships to push bilateral relations toward broader strategic horizons, in a way that fulfills the aspirations of both peoples and enhances security and stability in the region.
The statement concluded by reaffirming the continuation of political coordination between Khartoum and Mogadishu in light of increasing regional challenges, and the importance of building partnerships based on cooperation and integration.
This growing alignment between Khartoum and Mogadishu comes within a shifting regional context, particularly amid escalating tensions between Somalia and the United Arab Emirates, which have reached the point of Mogadishu canceling strategic agreements with Abu Dhabi following official accusations of actions that undermine the country’s sovereignty and national unity.
In this context, Somalia’s supportive position toward Sudan takes on added significance, in light of what has become a widely documented reality: the role played by the UAE in backing the rebel Rapid Support Militia through military and logistical support that directly contributed to igniting the war and expanding its scope across Sudan.
This support has led to a deepening humanitarian catastrophe, as attacks on cities, infrastructure, and essential services have intensified, making the Sudanese crisis one of the most complex and severe crises in the world.

@Abuamerican During Hajj a man was with his mother and children. The tent caught fire. He saved his children first, his mother died. He went to sheikh bin baz in distress and Sh bin baz cried and said you shouldve saved your mum. You can have more children but you cant have another mother

as a man who has had many wives.. I can say the men are not wrong.. Your mom and daughter will ALWAYS be yours... the woman might run off and marry or cheat with some other guy... she is yours till she isn't

@AnythingLFC_ Slot is killing the academy. Trent started against united in 2016 or 2017 because Clyne was injured.

@alexgildeatrott Are you slot out yet? Do you think Gerrard or Alonso will do worse than slot this season?
English

Mental game. 0 shots on target in first half before a much better second half where we dominated for parts but as soon as we didn’t score a second you could see it coming. Alisson too rash and they just took their chances which we didn’t. 16% conversion rate this season. Sums it all up. Massive uphill battle to even make 5th now. All in for the cups but would’ve rather lost 1-3 than lose Dom. Who’s even going to play right back now? Shite.

Salaam 👋 Founder of the Pillars app here (2M+ downloads alhamdullilah)
I've been really resisting commenting on this saga (been sent it by about 10+ different people lol) but there's quite a lot of concerning factors here ...
1) Muslims MUST own their own infrastructure ... it's not even negotiable at this point if you know how Muslims have been BURNED in the past.
2) We must respect our religious practices like prayer and imagery around it. Having been building in this space now for 3-4 years I've grown to realise that it's more of a burden/onous building in this space than any sort of "glory" ... the weight I carry with myself everyday is honestly insane ... everything has to be done SO carefully because of what you're dealing with and how important it is .... if you want proof speak to any of my team and tell them how careful I am with product reviews & marketing decisions.
Non-Muslims on the other hand will feel NONE of this ...
If you can imagine the crazy stuff that (some) Muslims are already doing with AI, UGC, inappropraite content, and in-app features that are way past the red line ... where do you think this will go?
3) We literally built Pillars because Muslims got completely burned by some of the biggest Muslim apps (that weren't even owned by Muslims) .... we cannot allow this cycle to happen ever again.
WIth all due respect to builders on this platform ... enjoy building in other spaces ... but this is a red line for us.
And for Muslims building in this space but not acting accordingly (i.e. within Islamic guidelines/ettiquite) ... we've seen you ... we've noted who you are ... and we won't forget what you sold for a couple of $.
Salaam ✌️
