This decision, announced without prior notice, compromises the product's functionality during the concerts scheduled from March 2026, when BTS will make their highly anticipated return to the stage. REASONS FOR INDIGNATION 🛑Lack of Transparency: HYBE has intensively promoted the ARMYBomb Special Edition over the past four years, encouraging fans worldwide to purchase the product, even during periods without concerts. In the last year, with preparations for BTS's comeback, this promotion intensified further, with the product being sold in pop-up stores around the world. The absence of clear communication about the imminent discontinuation of technical support enabling wireless connection violates consumers' basic right to information. 🛑Abusive Commercial Practices: The decision to end support for the wireless connection functionality of the Special Edition immediately after launching a new model of the lightstick suggests a strategy to compel fans to purchase the new version, exploiting the loyalty and emotional investment of the ARMY. 🛑Anti-Sustainability Practice: By suddenly rendering a functional electronic product obsolete, HYBE encourages rampant consumerism that contradicts the principles of sustainable development. This approach goes against the messages promoted by BTS themselves, who, in speeches at the United Nations General Assembly and on other occasions, have advocated the importance of sustainability and environmental responsibility. VIOLATIONS OF CONSUMER RIGHTS PRINCIPLES AND BUSINESS ETHICS: ❗️Right to Adequate Information: Consumers have the right to receive clear and precise information about the products they purchase. The omission of crucial details about the durability and support of the ARMYBomb Special Edition constitutes a violation of this principle. ❗️Ethical Commercial Practices: Companies must act with integrity and respect towards their customers. HYBE's strategy of discontinuing support without an adequate transition period demonstrates disrespect towards consumers and a lack of corporate responsibility. ❗️Commitment to Sustainability: Actions that promote the premature obsolescence of electronic products contribute to increased waste and go against the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), of which BTS is an active advocate. OUR DEMANDS: 1️⃣Extension of Technical Support: We request that HYBE maintain support for the wireless connection of the ARMYBomb Special Edition for a minimum period of two years, ensuring that fans can fully utilize the product they have purchased at concerts. 2️⃣Transparent Communication: We demand that future updates and changes to products be communicated clearly and with reasonable advance notice, respecting consumers' right to information. 3️⃣Commitment to Sustainability: We urge HYBE to adopt practices that promote product longevity and environmental responsibility, aligning with the sustainability messages advocated by BTS. The relationship between BTS and the ARMY is built on mutual trust and respect.
