She does her research and prep too instead of rocking up and taking the money. Knew when certain players were under contract until as well - much to Guillit’s surprise!

Well done @AlexScott for standing up for Steve Bruce today and making yourself heard despite being so patronised and talked down to by male colleagues, most notably Ruud Gullitt. You won support while they came over as uncaring and arrogant with their snide comments #motd #swfc

@seandunning1983 @OllieHolt22 Thing is she bothered unlike the others. It’s basic prep. Especially these days with wealth of info at fingertips. Similarly Bruce and #sufc. An example also of women in football having to do more to show they’re up to it. I speak from experience!

@vikkiorvice @OllieHolt22 My mum could find out when a certain player's contract is due to expire if she wanted to. Doesn't mean she knows anything about football either.

@Luke_1889 I’m assuming you know that some time ago he had promised his wife a holiday after deaths in the family and all agreed by #swfc And I’m an #SUFC fan #doyourhomework

One more - of many things - I'll also be grateful to Hughie for: covering a world heavyweight title fight at Madison Square Garden back in the early 90s, he introduced me to Budd Schulberg, writer of On the Waterfront. God, he knew everybody. #HughMcIlvanney

Never, ever, underestimate the power of football in helping raising awareness of the most common cancer in men. Thanks to @England manager and @theofficialfwa Guest of Honour Gareth Southgate for once again wearing the @ProstateUK Man of Men pin badge last night 👊#FWASouthgate

🔊 “It’s lovely to be recognised, equally, I’m looking forward to the end of patting ourselves on the back from last summer and moving forward.”
Here’s a 🎥 clip of our interview with @england manager Gareth Southgate from Sunday night’s wonderful Tribute Evening #FWASouthgate

@sparky0001 Don’t recall viewing tennis any differently in 70s when trekked down to Wimbledon from Sheffield or watching Evonne Goolagong and co on TV.
English

@vikkiorvice Which leads to others such as tennis where the ladies play 3 sets, men play 5... or boxing where until recently there was no female Olympic competition, and head guards were mandatory... Until the rules and standards are the same, it’ll be viewed differently.
English

@benbloomsport Was brought up that way. Never occurred to me it was anything but sport.
English

The women in sport movement is great but England’s netballers are not the only ones asking...
When will women’s sport just be seen as sport?

It wasn’t my best & it probably won’t be my worst.
But it was my first. And the first time a woman has done full football commentary for @BBCSportWales
Thanks to all the women & men who have paved the way. And to every little girl & boy out there...dreams do come true.
