Throwback to when Anthony Fantano started victim blaming Poppy when she opened up about her abuse. She delved into the things her abuser said and did to her. She quoted him directly and this low effort illiterate idiot framed it as her being the abuser.

I’m certain my least memorable song will be remembered more fondly and for more time than anything you ever do with your life will be. Everything you say is more “whiny” and “edgy” than I was at any point on that album. But at least I had the excuse of going through chemo.

deeply interesting that all fantano’s stans are acting like the general critical consensus is that halsey’s album was bad, when it received pretty positive reviews across the board. fantano was an outlier.

Most annoying thing about the Halsey stans and defenders is their demand that she is entitled to reverence because of her admittedly harrowing struggles. But, and this is important, if you’re going to channel your pain and trauma into art, the art still has to be…good.

this is honestly my primary gripe with fantano, he’s objectively BAD at his job. he’s functionally illiterate when it comes to understanding content from either 1. artists he deems below him 2. women’s suffering. he has a very bad habit of reading things in bad faith

RESPECTFULLY, Fantano listens to a lot of music but does not seem to have much of an understanding of music. I try not to be a hater, but he's also really pompous about it all. A real example of someone who doesn't know what they don't know

Who cares he gave a bad review? I care that a pay for clicks reaction YouTuber can facade as a pro critic and say it’s “main character syndrome” for an artist to lament her medical suffering on an album (surprise!) about her own life. He’s a raised-by-4chan edgelord bully. Yuck.

@PopBase I stopped watching him after Adele's 25 album release . I was blown away with the album and wanted to see how people felt and his video came. He was so negative and I just thought, has he ever made music ,that he knows about the art ? And that was it. Never watched him again .
