NEW: Tanner Horner, who pleaded guilty to murdering 7-year-old Athena Strand, seen on camera reacting to a woman telling him that a "seven-year-old kid" had been kidnapped. During the trial today, jurors broke down in tears after audio footage was played of Horner killing Athena after he told her to take off her shirt and said she was "really pretty." Athena repeatedly asked for her mother. "Horner is then heard asking Athena to remove her shirt, and there are several moments when she says "no" and asks for her mom. That was followed by repeated sounds of crying, screaming and banging," NBC reported. Jurors were also shown footage (below) of Horner being stopped while trying to deliver packages. He was told by a woman that the road was blocked off because a "seven-year-old kid" had been kidnapped. "Are you serious?" Horner said. Give this man the death penalty.

#D4vd was arrested by complaint, not indictment, and the case will be submitted to the DA’s office by Monday for charging consideration. This likely means either the Grand Jury did not return an indictment, or the DA chose not to seek one. An arrest by complaint means there will be a preliminary hearing to determine probable cause. This is a public hearing where evidence is presented and witnesses are questioned under oath, something that is bypassed with a Grand Jury indictment. It will be important to see whether this reflects a difference in strategy or a difference of opinion regarding the strength of the case between LAPD and the DA, or if there is another reason for proceeding this way. Immunity agreements, whether formal or informal (proffer), remain in effect even though there was no indictment. #CelesteRivasHernandez

I would check into the book story. Authors get blamed for “buying their own books” when the reality is at every speaking event copies of the book are sold and/or often signed. Some give away copies ;leave one on seat before audience arrives. Those books have to be physically carried to speaking venue they solve the problem by having local book stores (Barnes & Nobel) deliver the books which are paid for out of promotional budget. There is no conspiracy. Sone folks want a signed copy. That’s what it really is about.
