A major UAV procurement agreement has been signed between Turkish defense company DASAL and Nigerian firm NIGUS.
Under the deal signed at the SAHA 2026 International Defense and Aerospace Exhibition, the following systems will be delivered to Nigeria:
100,000 MIKON loitering munitions
200 FALCON R556 rifle-integrated drones
100 PUHU cargo UAVs
The agreement comes at a time when Turkish defense companies are playing an increasingly visible role in Africa’s defense industry projects.
DASAL (Altınay Savunma) will provide Nigeria with a multi-layered UAV package designed for both tactical and logistical operations.

Die Welt: Germany and the EU are considering the acquisition of Türkiye's YILDIRIMHAN and TAYFUN hypersonic missile systems.
Due to possible opposition from Greece and the Greek Cypriot Administration through EU mechanisms, a direct missile agreement between Germany and Türkiye is emerging as the most likely option.
The suspension of the US Tomahawk missile deployment plan in Germany has triggered serious debates in Berlin and Brussels over a growing security gap.
According to Die Welt, Türkiye's YILDIRIMHAN intercontinental ballistic missile and the TAYFUN BLOCK-4 hypersonic missile are among the systems being evaluated to fill this gap.
The goal is to restore deterrence capabilities for European NATO allies and establish a new strategic balance, particularly against Russia.
While deliveries could reportedly begin no earlier than 2028, Greece and the Greek Cypriot Administration are expected to object to the process through the EU’s SAFE defense funding mechanism.
As a result, either a direct Germany-Türkiye agreement or a limited coalition-based procurement model is being discussed.
An official announcement could reportedly be made during the NATO summit scheduled to take place in Ankara this July.
The current picture indicates that Türkiye is increasingly being viewed within Europe’s defense architecture as a strategic missile and high-technology producer capable of directly shaping regional deterrence balances.

ABD'nin Almanya'daki Tomahawk füze planını askıya alması, Berlin ve Brüksel'de ciddi bir güvenlik boşluğu tartışması başlattı. Die Welt'in haberinde, bu boşluğun doldurulması için Türkiye'nin geliştirdiği YILDIRIMHAN kıtalararası balistik füzesi ile TAYFUN BLOK-4 hipersonik füzesinin de değerlendirildiği belirtiliyor. Amaç, Avrupa NATO müttefiklerine karşı oluşabilecek caydırıcılık açığını kapatmak ve özellikle Rusya'ya karşı yeni bir denge oluşturmak. Teslimatların en erken 2028'den itibaren başlayabileceği ifade edilirken, Yunanistan ve GKRY’nin AB’nin SAFE fonu üzerinden bu sürece itiraz etmesinin beklendiği aktarılıyor. Türkiye will deliver 20 Block-10 KAAN 5th generation fighter jets to its air force between 2028 and 2030, accelerating Ankara’s push to become one of the few nations capable of producing an indigenous stealth combat aircraft.
The KAAN program surged forward after the U.S. removed Türkiye from the F-35 project over its purchase of Russian S-400 air defense systems.
