I love it when Indie devs succeed but What I hate is when one dev succeeds and all of a sudden they turn into a guru and a know it all. And all their advice boils down to copy the popular thing.

@CodeRed_dev The issue is often that worked for them was hyper specific to their situation. The exact timing, the exact thing they made and hiw they made it. Some things are definitely applicable for more people, but there are so many random factors that you can't teach

@CodeRed_dev True, being successful for a moment doesn't automatically make you a success and master of everything but auto hypnosis is there... You can use same tools,methods,marketing... but your product is still subject to same unpredictable factors (views, luck, timing, long term reach).

And they are actually a example of what to do right because they were successful. This aint just for games, business do the same thing. But if this is about antonio then we have a problem on that example, because his games arent even successfull and he is just bitter he now answers to a publisher, and they wont greenlight all his shit ideas so he geets mad and tweets about it.

Been making professional games for nearly 30 years. Biggest franchises on the planet. I can tell you, just do what brings you joy (and hopefully a paycheck) the success is mostly luck that you can perhaps nudge a little in one direction or another. Great games go unnoticed all the time while really bad games sell well all the time. Its a mystery.

@CodeRed_dev Devs with an inflated ego will always be a thing, I mean, PirateSoftware still thinks he holds any authority pertaining to coding advice and he hasn't even released his game yet, but I don't think we're getting another Jonathan Blow or Peter Molyneux situation again anytime soon.
