There was a woman in our neighbourhood whose husband used to take very good care of her. She was his second wife, and at some point she became sick, so the husband devoted himself to caring for her. But in a very short time, the husband himself began to cough and fall ill. During that same period, his first wife passed away. Not long after, the husband also died "of the coughing illness" (after spending a lot of money at UCH) The second wife, the one he had been caring for, eventually recovered for a short while… but later she also died. It all happened within a very short space of time. And it made me realise again how fragile life is.
