@PurrfectMiqote If you just want the raid encounters play rabbit and steel. If you just want to erp play vrchat. A majority of ffxiv is going to be story content and reading/watching cutscenes. I firmly believe if you don’t enjoy those things it is not worth the money to buy and subscribe.

This might be a hot take, but the length of the story has kept quite a few people I know from ever getting through it. It is genuinely weeks, if not months of playing if you don't have a lot of time. If you don't care to, tbh reading up on it is enough, and skip away

It’s 2026, we are gonna be 6 expansions deep into FFXIV soon. Can we stop with the weird gatekeepy behavior if someone doesn’t want to play through 250 hours of story to be able to play some of the best MMO raid encounters ever made? Heaven forbid someone asks you a small lore question if they start getting interested in the story after starting the game 10 years late. Are we really gonna keep driving people away with this weird NIMBY ritual? Just use your social skills (lol) and answer the small question, suggest they start a story alt on their downtime, or direct them to a synopsis video on YouTube. Crying about “story skippers” this deep into a game’s development cycle is peak cringe. If they set up a skip to Dawntrail for new characters to jump into the new story arc I and many others feel like it would be beneficial for the game’s long term health. While the Hydaelyn/Zodiark arc is great storytelling it’s also not a sacred cow for people to clutch pearls over. At the end of the day, it’s a game to be played. We’re all better than this and should start acting like it.

I’m me and who I want, more than I feel like me in my own skin, I worry and work very hard to match my model as crazy as it sound as it is my ideal self and even created my entire character as an representation of me. For people then to see me now an say such awful stuff about how I look and sound is so painful, I worked so hard to get here and away from self hatred and I would have been bullied if I looked how I did before being big but now I’m still just shit on when I thought I was at the point ppl might actually accept me. I just look like this! I’m sorry if hate me for that! it’s fucking stupid I’ve been streaming for years and talk in a my discord all day everyday with my voice constantly. literal months straight of me speaking, you can hear my range, I sound like this if you even had a brain cell and even watched me before spewing hateful nonsense. This is the third alliance raid since SHB that has been purely a crossover without any substance. I don’t inherently mind crossovers, but they shouldn’t come at the cost of an alliance raid story that could have built up the world of the 4th. Crossovers should be their own thing in addition. Both Monster Hunter collabs have managed to do this. We didn’t give up a trial for the Rath/Arkveld trials. We got both.
