Four different people asked me specifically for ₦2k today. To each of them, it’s just 2k; to me, it is ₦8k. In the end, I could only oblige two persons. The two I didn’t oblige may feel “Hakeem couldn’t give me 2k” because they don’t know that as they are asking me, others are asking me too. That is why I always let people know that whatever makes you think you can ask someone for something is what will make other people ask that person for the same thing. And that is why if you get anything from anybody, appreciate it, because for whatever you get from that person, someone else didn’t. If the tables turn and you are the one who didn’t get it, accept it in good faith and don’t make an enemy out of someone just because they couldn’t provide what you requested. Live a life of gratitude and not entitlement.
