For the first time in UK history, welfare has exceeded income tax revenue.
Welfare benefits is forecast at £334bn for 2025/26.
Income tax receipts are projected at £329-331bn.
Insanity.
@hol40900 William and Kate pay millions in tax on the Duchy and add millions more to our economy. The Sussexes don’t add a penny. William and Kate do more for the UK kids in poverty that the Sussexes ever will
#GoodMorning! Archie & Lili hunt eggs—real joy. Meanwhile, Kate & William pose in £10k outfits while 4.2m UK kids live in poverty. Sussexes win. #HappyEaster#HarryAndMeghan
🚨BREAKING: For the FIRST TIME in British History the UK WELFARE BILL now exceeds INCOME TAX
This is insane
Keir Starmer is driving us off a cliff
Income Tax revenue - £331 BILLION
Benefits & welfare - £333 BILLION
"White British families (54%) were the most likely out of all ethnic groups to receive state support – families from the Chinese ethnic group (25%) were the least likely to"
None of this is good, but blaming the bloated welfare bill entirely on foreigners misses the point.
@hol40900 They are not funded by the tax payer. The Duchy provides their income which Prince William VOLUNTARILY pays full tax on amounting to more than £5million paid into the UK tax system that he has no obligation to pay, but does.
Sweet moment #PrincessofWales? £132m/year for photo ops while 4.2 million UK children live in poverty. Mama Catherine's real legacy? Taxpayer-funded designer coats and zero accountability. #AbolishTheMonarchy
NEW🚨| 9.6 million workers set to benefit from stronger sick pay as of today.
* 1.2 million workers - majority low-paid women - get access to statutory sick for the first time.
* 8.4 million will get sick pay from the first day of illness - instead of having to wait four days.
@JAkinniranye@LBC@IainDale Well aren’t you a bigot. UK Women’s Employment rates: White 76%, Asian 68%, Black afr/Caribbean 66%, Pakistani/Bangladeshi 46%,Somali 34% The UK spends close to £20billion+ annually and rising in welfare to non - British citizens maybe we should stop that.
@LBC@IainDale Unserious Brits live in a fantasy world where they believe their government should go and steal or borrow to provide them with everything. It's time to teach lazy British women and girls that they have a responsibility to contribute to the economic growth of their country....
@PhilMyers53@Keir_Starmer No they haven’t. No one is better off. Goods and services price rises to soak up the increase meaning we earn slightly more but everything costs a lot more
The Tories originally voted against the national minimum wage
Under @Keir_Starmer, two million people have just been awarded a pay rise!

Yasmin Alibi-Brown said that White people have to integrate better with migrants:
“I ask people, what attempt have you made to integrate with those who come into your society? Why don’t we tell more White people to integrate better?”
The newcomers should be the ones to integrate.
@nowak_paul This will achieve nothing except bankrupt the country. Grifters will abuse sick pay, grifters will abuse the child benefit cap, children will still live in poverty. It’s the end of small businesses.
Today millions will get sick pay for the first time, and from day one
Paternity leave from day one
Ending the two-child benefit cap will lift hundreds of thousands of kids out of poverty.
Union campaigning & a Labour government making a difference.
Progress made. More needed.
My water rates went up 29% in the last year.
My council tax went up 6%.
My grocery shop has gone up about 15% in the same period.
My BT bill has gone up about 8%.
My gas/electric has gone up about 10%.
Even with the triple lock, my state pension hasn't gone up in line with the above.
And I'm sure the same is true for working people too.
This isn't the fault of the vast majority of the population. It's incompetent governments. For decades. That's led us into this pickle.
@KeruboSk Gen Z is bringing the real tea here! Who's gonna work under pressure for peanuts? Fair compensation is key, and if the expectations are high, the pay should match. Millennials might've been about hustle culture, but Gen Z is all about smart work and balance.
HR: Are you comfortable working under pressure?
Millenials: Yes!
Gen Z: I can handle pressure but I believe salary should be aligned with the workload and expectations of the role. Fair compensation helps employees stay motivated and deliver their best performance.
@KeruboSk In real terms (i’ve seen this so many times) Gen Z still take the job but only work as hard as they think they should, older employees pick up the slack until they reach breaking point. The older rightly complain but management force them out for ”not being a team player”
SACKED after 17 years… for stopping a thief.
A Waitrose worker in Clapham Junction has lost his job after intervening to stop someone stealing Easter eggs.
Walker Smith, 54, had given 17 years of service only to be shown the door for trying to do the right thing.
No warning. No loyalty. Just gone.
What message does that send to staff and to every other would be shoplifter wanting an easy target.
Do your job… but don’t actually protect the business. Waitrose have ABSOLUTELY no loyalty to their staff they are quite happy to dispense of Loyal partners like yesterdays rubbish.
@benonwine Retailers often have strict no-confrontation policies precisely to avoid staff getting hurt or the company facing lawsuits While it's frustrating and seems spineless, the priority is keeping people safe over property.
@SandyofSuffolk You are such a bigot. I walk 15+ mins to a station then an hour on the train. I leave at 7:30am home at 8pm often working 6 or sometimes 7 days a week. I live very frugally never claimed benefits. I still cannot afford to buy. Be grateful instead of spreading hate.
But, but, but, I'll have to walk 20 minutes to a station. Eeek!
Oooh no. I can't commute for an hour each way.
But my mum lives close by, how will I manage if I have to move away? 🤔
But jobs in xxx town don't pay £50 grand.
But it might need work and decorating. Boo hoo.
All my friends are here.
Excuse after pathetic lame excuse. 🙄
I'm sure you all know what I'm talking about. 😜
