Do I think Steph is brain dead stupid? Yes, in my angry opinion that’s how I feel. like how could I not think that when I see this team play and I want to wipe my memory after each game.However, in a literal sense? No, which is even worse. Do I think Steph white is a good coach? Depends on how you define Good. I think she can be in certain environments, schemes and with certain expectations but she is not a top tier coach in the W. She is no Reeves, Hammon, Smesko, Nakase, Nate or even Brondello. She to me is an average coach with limitations and set in a certain style and that’s why this team is looking average as well. Her stubbornness, lack of accountability, humiiity and lack of development for players is troublesome. Right now we are seeing this poorly constructed roster look like ass, however some of our players shouldn’t be looking this bad especially since they looked decent elsewhere; Mo, Lexie, DB last year, Flash ( being used in a spread offense in the PnR who would have thought) She doesn’t believe in rookies and developing them as players and at first I didn’t buy that but the writing is on the wall. This staff don’t develop well; KK has so much raw athleticism and yet she still looks like a fresh rookie out there chilling on the freakin3 point line?!!! We have a 6’4 wing who can shoot yet she hasn’t even tried activating her. Lexie is being exposed and I should never see her take a post up or more than 4 dribbles in the paint. Raven and Ty…you got to choose one at this point because having both who don’t produce enough for what the bench needs is a problem. Putting in players who haven’t played meaningful mins for several games into critical times is also dumb. You see constant hesitation on shooting because (pass up the good shot to find the great shot prop) You see confusion on positioning, on defined roles, you see our Big 3 out there only showing small spurts of them looking like the big 3. Everything feels like a struggle, everything feels overthinked, forced. You see two different philosophies being played at times, a Steph white scheme and a CC offensive generator led scheme ( which actually helps everyone on the court look their best) and the players are trying to figure out which minutes during this game are they playing which style and it looks confusing and like ass. Yes the players need to make their layups, FTs, not do dumb fouls/ TO’s. That’s understood, however when a whole team looks like ass and not just one player is having these issues, that’s a coaching issue. When I see a coach being nonchalant on the sideline during these games, that’s worrisome, when I see the HC not challlenge a lot of these phantom fouls for her big 3? That is very troubling. When I see a HC not using a timeout on these crazy runs to try to rally the team and stop the bleeding, that’s a head scratcher. I’m sure the players like her a person, but there is alot of red flags over the last two season that are becoming bigger and bigger.
