I’m really sad to witness X’s slow demise after joining in 2015 as a college student and now reflecting in 2024 as a PhD student. I’ve effectively grown up online 😅 I’m so grateful for the connections and opportunities… so here’s to building an even better community over on ⬇️

I found the official Get Information about Schools website a bit clunky, so I made a new one with Claude Code. You can: - Set a postcode and see all schools within a radius of that you've chosen, filtered by type of school. - Filter and rank by the old one-word Ofsted ratings, with a link to the Ofsted page for each school. Where available, the sub-ratings are also viewable. - Filter and rank by percentage of students on free school meals. - View how full up schools are (number of pupils vs capacity). My 5 yo daughter is obsessed with maths, which is wonderful. We’re supporting it by doing a few pages of a maths exercise book every night & by talking about it & playing math games with her but I’d love to know, mathematicians out there, how your carers nurtured it for you?

I’ve taught a fair few seminars, but yesterday I gave my first lecture which I was v. nervous about. I thought it was 😐 at best, but afterward, I received an email from a student saying they “really enjoyed it” & I’d explained a tricky topic in a way they “finally understood”🥲
