In a competitive marketplace rates will lower to compensate for people using less medical coverage. An insurer would offer me a good rate because I’m statistically a safe bet. Meanwhile I can contribute to my own HSA to save up for the future instead of funneling it into a big pool. Look I’ll be on board with universal healthcare after they fix healthcare costs and not a second before. Healthcare insurance changes who pays not what is paid.

Serious question. Why are some Americans so against universal healthcare?

Or if you insist on looking at it this way then by that logic everyone else is helping to subsidize you as well. Costs would be lower because it’s not a private for profit system.

I would be covered under the drivers auto policy. You fundamentally misunderstand health care. With private healthcare I can still get health insurance. It will be at a significantly lower rate because I’m low risk. With universal healthcare I need to pay more because I’m subsidizing everyone else.

No one wants to ban guns. Gun reform is about making it safer to own guns and making it harder for those who want to commit crimes using guns from getting them. And no, gun reform does not violate the 2nd amendment. The people who tell you that it does are the people who profit from irresponsible gun ownership. Aka the Republican Party. “How many mass shootings till the US bans guns?” The limit does not exist as long as our politicians profit from gun lobbyists. If the NRA stopped funding their pockets we would’ve had gun reform a long time ago and the majority of our mass shootings never would’ve happened. We need strict background checks, strict registration requirements, nation wide laws that hold people accountable who do not lock up their fire arms if their guns are used to commit a crime, ban on automatic firearms for citizens, set a minimum age to own a firearm arm nation wide, require multiple training courses for gun owners at professional facilities, basically common sense needs to happen. But it doesn’t because the NRA contributes hundreds of millions of dollars to republican politicians and they care more about gun lobbyists funding their bank accounts than the lives of the American citizens they’re meant to serve and protect. Every other country that has implemented actual gun reform has seen a significant decrease in shootings. America has more gun violence than any other country yet our politicians love to pretend the issue isn’t the fact we have an insane amount of guns constantly circulating nation wide.
