If you’re looking to check out our show for the first time, we recommend starting with one of our Halloween Specials. Audio quality at the beginning of the “regular case file” isn’t great, but improves after 3 or 4 episodes. #ActualPlayPodcast

Hey @prattprattpratt weird question, but do you remember filming a scene of Everwood at a pool in Salt Lake, and a fat teenager climbing a fence to show the cast his nipple and yell “ooohh biilllyyyy!!!”?

@SandyofCthulhu I love when they do the classic Roll First-Then Announce What They Were Attempting. Oh, I rolled great? That's to do the high stakes, high risk thing. Oh, I rolled bad? That was for percepton! At that point I have them step on a rattlesnake they didn't see.

As a gamemaster, my eyes roll so hard when a player rolls that Nat 20 (or in a 1d100 system, an 01-05) when it's not needed, and then thinks, "Well I'll hang onto it until my next roll is called for." What. The. Heck. I've actually watched players roll their dice again and again, as if it was a nervous tic. Then when a good roll came up on the dice, they "saved" it. That's not how it works, pal, though I understand the temptation. My solution is I say, "Well, roll just once more - then you can save THAT roll instead, because it's announced." Also - hard never-broken rule. If your die rolls off the table, it must ALWAYS be rerolled. You NEVER get to count a die that landed on the floor, your lap, or elsewhere. This has two good results: 1) everyone gets to see the die roll. Not that I don't trust you. 2) now people don't like seeing their dice roll off the table.

@monsterhunter45 Why take the time to properly define something when you can rely on “vibes”?

@copamundial09 How am I a GOP media personality, you fucking dork? :D Next, you have to define a thing in order to talk intelligently about it. And the only way we have a mass shooting every day is if you use the retarded dishonest definition which makes no sense and confuses the issue.

I broke this retarded bullshit set of numbers down in great detail in the book In Defense of the Second Amendment. What they're doing is using some definition of "mass shooting" which is loose and absurdly different than what normal people would think of when they hear "mass shooting", the actual number of which is usually around 7-10 a year, which sounds like a lot, until you realize we live in a country with a third of a billion people in it, and many of them are batshit. The only way they're getting that high is they're including anything where more than one person gets shot, like domestic violence, murder/suicides, and great big one drug/gang related stupid bullshit. Nobody thinks "mass shooting" when T-Bone pops off some rounds at Ray-Ray and Snotboogie for selling crack on the wrong corner. These dishonest fucking losers play the same trick for "school shootings" where they lump in more T-Bone shooting Ray-Ray, dumb bullshit like suicides in the school parking lot at night during summer vacation, or some incidents that when we check we can't find any news or police reports about them at all. Robert Reich of course knows this, but he's a dishonest bitch with a grift to run.
Robert Reich@RBReich

Mass shootings in the US, per Gun Violence Archive: 2015: 332 2016: 383 2017: 347 2018: 335 2019: 414 2020: 611 2021: 689 2022: 644 2023: 659 2024: 503 So far in 2025...392 mass shootings in 349 days. We do not have to keep living like this.
