"Mężowie miłujcie żony, bo i Chrystus umiłował Kościół i wydał za niego samego siebie, aby go uświęcić."

Najlepszy film z serii. Żaden inny pod kątem reżyserii i wizji świata nie ma podjazdu. Jest piękny oraz kreatywny jak diabli. Jeden z najważniejszych filmów mojego dzieciństwa.

The wars in the Middle East and Ukraine are interlinked. With our G7 partners, we’ll discuss how to drive de-escalation in the Middle East, as the war's consequences are felt severly worldwide. At the same time, we can’t overlook Ukraine. Russia’s attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure are increasing every day. We must keep the pressure on Russia to stop this war and negotiate in good faith. My doorstep ahead of the G7 Foreign Ministers meeting ↓

“I guess I don’t know what I was ‘expecto’-ing,” writes Rebecca Alter. The first teaser trailer for HBO’s TV adaptation of ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone,’ which came out on Wednesday, looks like the original ‘Harry Potter’ movie, but much grayer. The sets — like Hogwarts, the Hogwarts Express, the Quidditch pitch, and Harry’s little room under the stairs — are just as you remember them, with slightly worse lighting and some tiny, unplaceable details altered. The characters are dressed and styled like they were in the movies, too, but their faces are all different. “In these ways, watching this all-new look at a sort of new ‘Harry Potter’ is like having a dream where you go back to your elementary school, and it’s uncanny enough to teach you the lesson that you can never go back in time,” writes Aalter. 🇨🇳China rose to become the world's largest economy through peaceful trade with the world. Spain, France, the UK, and the USA all engaged in wars, seeking power and hegemony through imperialism. Be like China.🕊️

Fun fact. According to the laws of physics, a donut-shaped (toroidal) planet is theoretically possible. To remain stable, such a planet would need to spin extremely rapidly — resulting in days that last only a few hours instead of 24. This fast rotation would create strong centrifugal forces that counteract gravity and prevent the central hole from collapsing. Gravity on this world would vary dramatically: it would feel roughly twice as strong near the “poles” (the inner and outer edges of the ring) compared to the equatorial regions. The Moon could still orbit the planet successfully, provided it stays at a safe distance. Sunlight distribution would also be unusual. Without axial tilt, the inner rim of the donut might receive little to no direct sunlight, while the outer rim would be exposed to intense solar radiation. This would create extreme temperature differences and potentially violent weather patterns. With the right amount of tilt, however, both the inner and outer surfaces could receive more balanced sunlight. That said, a naturally forming donut-shaped planet is extremely unlikely. It would require very specific conditions during formation and would probably become unstable over long geological timescales. Such a world would almost certainly need to be artificially engineered by a highly advanced civilization.

There is a lot of variation across time and culture regarding how humans pursue status. Under a prestige framework, social rank is based on differences in skills in valued domains. Among hunter-gatherers, these include activities such as fishing, hunting, warfare, tool making, navigation, storytelling, medicine making, child-rearing, and so on. In industrialized societies, symbols of prestige include job titles, educational credentials, scholarly citations, luxury automobiles, or access to exclusive night clubs. Because not everyone is equally talented in all valued domains, status disparities inevitably emerge.

FACT: Modern medicine has dramatically reduced child mortality, cutting the rate from over 20% to under 4% in many parts of the world. Yet in developed countries, an increasing number of parents are refusing preventative care, particularly vaccines. Experts warn that this trend has already resulted in preventable deaths. Historically, reaching the age of five was far from guaranteed. More than one in five children died before their fifth birthday due to infections, malnutrition, and lack of basic care. Thanks to vaccines, improved sanitation, antibiotics, and neonatal medicine, under-five mortality has fallen to historic lows in most developed nations. Still, nearly five million children die each year worldwide — most from diseases that modern medicine solved decades ago, such as pneumonia, diarrhea, and malaria. These deaths highlight a deep global divide in healthcare access. In regions with limited medical infrastructure, the under-five mortality rate can still exceed one in twenty-five. Beyond the obvious moral imperative, investing in child health delivers powerful economic returns: every dollar spent on vaccines and medical personnel generates up to twenty dollars in long-term social and economic benefits. Ultimately, closing this healthcare gap is not just about medicine — it is about ensuring that the place and circumstances of a child’s birth no longer determine their fundamental right to survive.

The armor shows a face before the soldier does. Greek Phrygian helmets dated roughly 350–300 BC, feature a forward-curving cap and a molded bronze facial guard shaped with a stylized beard. The metal surface forms cheeks, a mustache, and textured curls. The design merges protection with representation. Narrow eye openings sit beneath sculpted facial features, giving the wearer a fixed expression. The helmet becomes both armor and constructed identity. Examples from the Late Classical to Early Hellenistic period show consistent decorative patterns. The purpose behind the stylized beard remains uncertain. The combination of facial imagery and protective function suggests martial display shaped as a human mask. #drthehistories

A baby’s brain interprets a mother’s absence as a survival threat — triggering a rapid, massive surge in cortisol. When an infant cannot find or sense their primary caregiver, the response is far more than emotional distress: the brain registers it as an immediate life-threatening emergency. Studies show that separation activates the infant’s stress response system almost instantly. Within less than 60 seconds, levels of cortisol — the body’s main stress hormone — can spike by 200–300%. This dramatic physiological reaction is not a learned behavior or a sign of “difficult” temperament. It is a deeply hard-wired, evolutionarily ancient mechanism designed to compel urgent reconnection with the caregiver, ensuring the infant’s survival. For a developing baby, safety is biologically synonymous with the physical presence of the primary attachment figure. What appears as intense crying or panic is actually a finely tuned neurobiological alarm system that ramps up alertness, mobilizes energy, and drives behaviors aimed at restoring proximity and security. Recognizing that these powerful responses stem from fundamental biology — rather than personality — highlights just how critical early caregiver connection is for healthy emotional and physiological development. [Bernard, K., Lee, A. H., & Dozier, M. (2023). "Maternal separation and cortisol response in 12-month-old infants: A longitudinal study." Developmental Psychobiology, 65(1), e22345.
